FAO honors Egypt's agricultural channel for its extension and service role for supporting the farmer
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) honoured FAO, Egypt Agricultural Channel, Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, for its outstanding and important role in raising awareness and providing extension services to farmers, educators and those interested in agriculture, and covering sustainable development and agricultural issues.
This took place during the celebration organized by the organization to honour a number of media organizations on the occasion of the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables, which was witnessed by Dr. Abdulhakim, Assistant Director-General of the organization, and Dr. Nasraldine Hajj, representative of FAO in Egypt.
Dr. Alaa Azoz, Head of the Agricultural Extension Sector, Superintendent of the Egypt Agricultural Channel, said that this followed the breakthrough achieved by the Egypt Agricultural Channel, its development, its structure and the broadcasting of new television programmes aimed at deepening the Channel's outreach role, as well as service programmes aimed at the public, especially in the rural sector, to raise awareness of various agricultural issues, sustainable development issues, as well as extension services to farmers throughout Egypt.
The organization also honoured the Ministry's Media Adviser, Ahmed Ibrahim, and Mahmoud El-Araaj, the Ministry's Information Coordinator, for their outstanding role in the ongoing and ongoing cooperation and communication with the organization and for the coordination of media issues relating to agriculture.
